The Worth & Violet Story

Sisters, Worth and Violet were my Great Aunt's friends.  Two sweet little old ladies, they always treated me to milk and cookies when I visited them in their beautiful Pasadena, California bungalow.

The best times were when Worth and Violet would invite everyone to visit them at their vacation home in Laguna Beach. Their beach home was the sight of many childhood firsts.  My first taste of Sherbet, my first night "camping out" under the stars with the sounds of the ocean lulling me to sleep, and glorious days under the California sun playing in the cool Pacific.

Independent, feminine, strong, generous, sophisticated, whimsical, and with a taste for all of the good things in life; these were all traits that both Worth and Violet possessed and were reflected in the way they lived their lives.  Beautiful rose bushes with delicate flowers shared space in their garden with sugar snap peas. Marvelous smelling soaps and lotions graced their sinks. Gourmet cheeses and wines from California shared the kitchen with Swiss chocolate and Italian pastries. And, beautiful treasures that filled me with a sense of discovery and wonder, could be found in each room of their homes. 

Our store, Worth and Violet, is named in memory of these sisters and strives to celebrate those wonderful qualities that they possessed.
